Operation Christmas Child
San Dimas, CA - November 30, 2009 For the third year in a row, Christian Community Credit Union’s staff participated in Operation Christmas Child, a program that brings joy, hope and God’s love to boys and girls around the world through gift-filled shoeboxes while focusing on the true meaning of Christmas — Jesus Christ. In all, the staff donated 137 shoeboxes filled with toys, school supplies, hygiene items, clothing and more. The Operation Christmas Child drive at the Credit Union ran from October 27 through November 19, 2009. To make it easy for the staff to participate and create an early holiday spirit of giving, Christian Community Credit Union set up a drop off station with a Christmas ambiance. "Operation Christmas Child creates the opportunity to participate in a program that takes little money or effort, but brings a huge payoff. Sending boxes to children all over the world as gifts is reason enough to be a part of this program, but with the added knowledge that these children will hear the gospel, there is compelling reason to play a role in this ministry mission." said John Marshall, a Banking Development Officer at Christian Community Credit Union. "It is a real joy to be a part of Operation Christmas Child as it reaches out to children across the globe!" With assets over $500 million, Christian Community Credit Union serves over 29,000 members nationwide and has served as a financial partner of Christian churches, ministries and their members for over 50 years.
