Is there a limit as to how much I can invest into the Kingdom Builder Savings Account?

There is no limit to your investment. Upon initial opening of the account, there is a $100 minimum to open and an initial deposit maximum of $52,500. Additional deposits can be made after account opening with no limits.

Is there a minimum attendee requirement?

We don’t have a minimum requirement for attendance to qualify for a church loan.  However, it is sometimes harder for smaller churches to qualify. (Smaller churches are those with 150 attendees or 100 giving units.)

We know every situation is unique. So please call us if you’re interested in a loan, even if your church is under those numbers.

Our church would like the ability to accept credit card payments. Is this a service Christian Community Credit Union offers?

Yes. Whether you are running a bookstore, café, camp, conference, or school, our vendor can provide the equipment and merchant account you need to accept and manage credit card processing.

Call The Ministry Development Group at 800.347.CCCU (2228) ext. 6216 or email us to get started.

Should my church build or buy a building?

Every church is unique, and every real estate market is unique.  Often, buying an existing building is easier and cheaper than building a new one.  However, some ministries simply can’t find a property suitable for their needs. For ministries with the time and extra resources to do so, we offer construction loans as well.

What are available loan terms?

We offer loan terms of 3, 5, 7, or 10 years, with amortization periods of up to 25 years.

What are some pitfalls we should be aware of in the loan process?

For purchases, use restrictions are a common pitfall.  Often, ministries have trouble getting a conditional use permit. This can be due to things like parking requirements or changes in use from buyer and seller.

Financing construction projects has its own set of risks. Some of those are part of any major construction project.  You can learn more about those risks here.

If you’re refinancing, look for any loan terms, covenants, or requirements that could limit your options.  Those could include:

  • Prepayment penalties
  • SWAP agreements
  • Changing offsetting balance requirements.

The Credit Union doesn’t have any of these provisions. We always strive for win-win relationships.

What are the advantages of a Money Market?

You earn a higher rate than a traditional savings account. It’s also different from a Certificate of Deposit because you have the freedom to deposit or withdraw money without any penalties imposed.  Â
